1. Your account

You must be at least 13 years old. If you are under the age of digital consent in your country, you need the permission of a parent or guardian.

One account per person. You are responsible for keeping your password secret and for all activity on your account.

Your commander name and planet names must not be insulting, hateful or sexual, and must not impersonate anyone.

2. Computer-controlled commanders

Some commanders in the universe are controlled by artificial intelligence (AI) and are not labeled as such. They build, trade, attack and may reply to messages like players do. Their presence is part of the game.

3. Rules of conduct

The following are forbidden: cheating, scripts or bots that automate play, deliberately exploiting bugs, multiple accounts, sharing or selling accounts, harassment, threats, hate speech, spam and posting other people’s personal information.

4. Moderation

Depending on severity, moderators may warn you, delete a message, rename an account or planet, temporarily mute you, suspend your account for a period or ban it permanently. Messages reported by players are reviewed by a moderator.

5. Game content

Resources, ships, planets and other in-game items have no monetary value, are not your property and cannot be exchanged for real money. We may change game balance, reset a universe or change the game at any time.

6. Commander status

Commander status is optional and only gives convenience features, never resources, speed-ups, combat strength or protection. It is sold in US dollars through Stripe in two forms: a subscription (1, 3 or 12 months) that renews automatically until cancelled, which you can do at any time from the Commander page, and stays active until the end of the paid period; or a pass paid once, which never renews and can be gifted to another player.

New players get a free trial of Commander status, and players earn Commander days when a friend they invited comes back after a week (rewards are limited and refused for accounts on the same network). This free time works like paid time and has no cash value.

Donations (Support ExoWars) are voluntary, give no in-game advantage besides a Supporter badge, and are not refunded unless the law requires it. An alliance pack gives one month of Commander status to each alliance member without a Commander subscription at the time of payment. Players who pay during the launch period receive a permanent Founder badge.

Because the service starts immediately, you agree that it begins on payment and, to the extent permitted by law, waive your right of withdrawal. Started periods are not refunded unless the law requires it. Accounts banned for breaking the rules are not refunded.

7. Deleting your account

You can delete your account at any time from Settings → Delete my account. Deletion is immediate and permanent and cancels any active subscription. We may delete accounts inactive for more than 12 months after warning you by email.

8. Liability

The game is provided “as is”. We do our best to keep it available and bug-free but cannot guarantee it. To the extent permitted by law, our liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the last 12 months.

9. Changes and governing law

We may change these terms; significant changes will be announced in game. Continuing to play after they take effect means you accept them.
